WELLNESS DAY - "Focus on the stairs in front of you, not the whole staircase."
Wellness day is a day that members of the community come in to share their experience, knowledge, and histories with our high school students. There are breakout sessions handling grief, living with a disability, self defense, becoming an entrepreneur, art, and financial responsibilities.

The B#4 Foundation honors the life and achievements of Brady Hessbrook, who tragically took his own life on January 27, 2023. The B#4 Foundation strives to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention through education, outreach initiatives, advocacy, and community service.
*Living life with a disability and overcoming obstacles-all day-Richard and Kristen Murphy. Richard, a Napoleon alumni, was hurt in a car accident. Richard and his wife will talk about living with a disability and how they persevere to live life to the fullest. Mr. Keeler’s Room 124
*Teen Leadership-Sessions A, C, and E-Kori Buckley-This story is about the dangers of motor vehicles and the real consequences of the aftermath of an accident. I was a first on scene, life support helper to my cousin who unfortunately endured the extreme injuries of the accident. I will be telling you my side of the overall experience and how I overcame secondary trauma and how I battle through my post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) Mr. Shell’s room 118

Trafficking/internet safety-all day-State Police-Thomas Gladney III and trooper– Come listen to Lansing’s Computer Crimes Unit Team Leader and member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force talk about internet safety and how that relates to human trafficking. Mr. Marshall’s room 110
*Drugs- all day-State Police- Ben Garrison-A real discussion about the dangers and consequences of drug use today. Learn about the current drug trends across the state of Michigan, and the deadly risk that accompanies the rise in counterfeit (fake) pills. Mr. Guilfoil’s room 119
Ele’s Place- Grief-all day Provide students with information on some basic premises of grief and common reactions to grief. We will then discuss ways to help yourself or a friend who is grieving and will finally share grief resources that students could access if further grief information and support is needed. Art IS for everyone-Doug Jones-all day– In this session we will discuss some of the benefits of healthy self-expression and engagement in the arts. Mrs. Genthner’s room 133
*Unhealthy vs. Healthy Relationships-Courtlyn Paule and Meaghan Bryant-This session will discuss unhealthy and healthy relationships. We will take a look at warning signs a relationship may be unhealthy and what to do. We will also discuss ways to cultivate healthy relationships. All day Mrs. McDevitt’s room 131

*Path to your purpose: Discovering why you are here. -Ben Redmond- Sessions A,B,C One of the most important questions any of us will ever answer is "why am I here?" But can you really start answering that question in high school?
